The Client
Northcote Manor Hotel & Spa dates to 1000 A.D and started life as a monastery, a sanctuary for Benedictine monks and friars. The manor became crown property following the dissolution of the monasteries in 1539. King Henry VIII owned the manor for 21 years, leasing it out to Thomas de Soulemont, a courtier.
Fast forward to the 21st century, Northcote Manor is now a 16-bedroom North Devon escape which boasts extensive grounds including a walled garden, apple orchards, and woodland. Guests enjoy AA Rosette restaurant and intimate spa experiences which include swimming pool, hot tub, steam room, sauna, gym and three peaceful treatment rooms.

The Brief
Northcote Manor needed to grow its presence nationally as a North Devon escape, wedding venue, and newly opened luxury spa.
Objectives
- Increase website traffic and sales through PPC and SEO.
- Generate spa days, spa breaks and spa membership sales
- Engage the email database with email marketing and offers
- Reduce the need for third party booking sites which take a large % fee on each booking
The Solution
One month of SEO was completed for the spa opening and ongoing SEO for the hotel. The work completed in this time helped grow website traffic by 34% between the period the spa opened and before COVID-19. These are incredible results for just one month of work.
High quality search advertising via Google means we can target anyone researching with intent to book a spa day in a hotel. In addition to this we ran Facebook campaigns for hotel offers each month. With the limited £300 Facebook and Instagram budget, we’re proud to say that we drove over 3000 website visitors per month, plus a ‘special offers page’ which in turn equals thousands of pounds worth of income and full hotel bookings.
